Description: The UO Center for Advanced Science is a product of a collaborative design process seeking to integrate flexible, modern buildings into an historic context. The resulting solution reinvigorated the science department and struck a new direction for modes of information sharing within the department. Brockmeyer McDonnell Architects worked collaboratively with Ratcliff Architects and Moore Ruble Yudell on contract administration for this $45 million project. BMA was also the primary architect for related construction of the Department of Allied Arts Millrace Studios (11,000 sf) and the Museum of Natural History (10,000 sf).
Project Scope: Four new science buildings at University of Oregon in Eugene, OR. Completed 1990.
