When White Bird asked GMA to help relocate their outpatient behavioral health services to an early 20th century building formerly housing mixed-use retail and apartments, it quickly became clear we had our work cut out for us.  New public gathering rooms, individual offices, and support spaces were carefully fit into the historic building fabric.  By removing all interior finishes, protecting century-old millwork, and introducing new floor beams to support the new use, we were able to bring new life to the building while maintaining the original 20th century character.  Privacy, accessibility, and clear wayfinding drove the interior design process, as well as creating a safe, comfortable environment for staff and clients.
