GMA Architects is a community of designers and architects in Eugene and Portland, Oregon working collaboratively to Make Better.  

At GMA, Interior Designers work on a variety of project types and sizes including public, hospitality, healthcare, housing, and education. We foster a hands-on studio culture that values environmental and social responsibility, transparency, and commitment to quality design and quality service. As an Interior Designer within the firm, you will join a collaborative team to develop and implement interior design concepts on projects and help project teams to deliver personalized, well-intentioned spaces, and experiences.

The description below outlines the general qualities we are looking for in an Interior Designer. However, we are most interested in candidates with the ambition to contribute to a common vision of inclusion, meaningful design, humility, and collaboration. Location: Eugene, Oregon

Preferred start date: June 1st, 2026 (flexible)

Education and Experience‍ ‍

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent professional experience

  • 0-2 years of professional industry experience

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities‍ ‍

  1. Ability to understand design problems and work through design iterations

  2. Understanding of programming, space planning, and code

  3. Material palette and FFE development and specification

  4. Ability to communicate design concepts through writing, visual means and project documentation

  5. Self-motivated with strong organization and time management skills

  6. Be an active listener and work collaboratively on project teams; foster a community design culture
